- ASME B16.5 covers flanged fittings and steel pipe flanges between NPS ½ to NPS 24 inches. For a higher dimensional range, the ASME B16.47 is used.
- The B16.47 range can be used in systems having higher pressures, temperatures, and ratings, while the other can be used in lower pressure classes.
- The B16.5 range is cheaper in comparison to the other range.
